Watching a dream vehicle come to life from a rendering holds a special place in the hearts of those who get to experience it first hand – every single day. Not only is it an amazing process to see a build come together from concept to finished product, but to see the ultimate fulfillment of a dream come true is a truly special feeling. Robbie Bryant of KEG Media has plenty of experience with this as he’s built his company and career around creating renderings for dream vehicles that ultimately come to fruition for his clients. But no matter how many times Robbie experiences the process, it still holds a special meaning when it comes to the creation of his own custom vehicle builds.

If you’ve been involved in the industry for any length of time, you’ve undoubtedly heard of KEG Media. After all, Robbie and his crew are known as visionaries not only in the art of automotive rendering, but also in coming up with unique and new ideas for their customers’ builds that have never been done before. As Robbie told us, he enjoys “bringing new ideas to the market, building the latest and greatest vehicles in the industry, and ultimately moving his brand forward with innovation, class and passion.” Nothing could be more true when it comes to one of the latest builds Robbie commissioned – a lifted 2015 Chevy Silverado HD3500 Dually dubbed “Recluse.”
Recluse came about when Five-R Trucks of Golden, Colorado (a long-time client of KEG Media), contacted Robbie with the idea of building something truly special to be showcased at the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Having always wanted to build a lifted dually, Robbie came up with the ultimate rendering and shipped off his design to the crew in Colorado, ordering up a new 2015 Chevy Silverado from his local dealership to be the basis of the project.
When the truck came in (as one of the first in the area, mind you) Robbie picked it up and drove it nine and a half hours Northwest to Golden, CO to meet up with Five-R Trucks crew and get the figurative and literal wheels rolling on the build. The trip also gave Robbie the chance to explore Colorado a bit and see the surrounding areas. When Bryant dropped the keys and caught his flight home, the brand new Chevy would now be in the talented hands of the Five-R Trucks crew, not to be seen by its owner until the 2014 SEMA Show opened.
Matching the build to Robbie’s rendering was the primary goal, which took quite a bit of work. The first task was to be able to run 12-inch wide wheels up front without looking out of place, rather than the standard offset dually-style wheels – Golden, Colorado’s Lawson’s Paint and Body, were put to the test by extended the front fenders with sheet metal three and a half inches on each side to accommodate the new 22×12-inch Fuel Off-Road Hostage 2 two-piece hoops. The truck was then sent to EuroWraps in Denver, where the truck received its signature Matte Chocolate Brown Metallic wrap in record time. Oddly enough, upon the release of the rendering for Recluse, the matte brown color was a source of doubt for some enthusiasts, but when all was said and done, many who doubted were turned to fans and we think the truck couldn’t look better!
After the fenders were done and the wrap was applied, the truck headed back to Five-R Trucks, who put all the finite details into the truck to make it what it is today. Not only did they match Robbie’s rendering perfectly with equipment like Showtime front and rear bumpers with LED lighting components, a custom “KEG Edition” grille produced by All Wired Grills/Gravel Empire, a Full V-Back rack from Back Bone Truck Racks, custom plainANsimple headlights, and Recon lights throughout, they also lifted the truck and beefed up its performance quite a bit.
Under the truck you’ll find nothing but the best; a full McGaughy’s Suspension 7 to 9-inch lift in the front and Atlas 5-inch soft ride leafs with McGaughy’s trac bars in the rear, Icon Vehicle Dynamics Resi-shocks, and Firestone Ride Rite airbags over the rear axle for added towing comfort and capabilities. The Prismatic Powders Soft Misty Copper powder coat covering all the suspension components was a finishing touch that Five-R Trucks added to the build to really give it the final details.
Just like the suspension, the engine was treated to some goodies, to help beef things up a bit. Performance add-ons to the stock engine include a S&B Filters cold air intake, MBRP 5-inch exhaust, and an Edge Products CTS Evolution programmer, which help wake up the HD a bit and give it the kick in the pants needed to spin the massive 37-inch Toyo Open Country MTs.
Inside, the truck features custom Alea Leather Napa Grain Amaretto leather seats with custom inserts to resemble Ferrari seats, body-color wrapped interior panels, a Firestone Ride Rite air gauge controller for rear airbags and a full Kicker SoundGate stereo system incorporated with the truck’s stock touch-screen navigation and bluetooth system. The leather interior is one of Robbie’s favorite aspects of the completed truck, telling us that it’s just so classy and elegant compared to what you’d normally expect from the interior of a full-size lifted dually.
Robbie certainly didn’t scrimp on any detail in his rendering and Five-R Trucks made the truck a reality with no tidbit of detail spared, right down to the “Recluse” engraved brake calipers and the custom cutouts, which are featured on the lift kit, bumpers, custom grille and roof rack. It was details like these that made Recluse such a jaw-dropping sight when we first laid eyes on it at its SEMA Show debut.
Recluse is now making its rounds after towing the ‘bagged KEG Media “DISTILD” Audi A5 home (more than 22hrs away) after the SEMA Show. If you haven’t seen this badass dually in person, be sure to be on the lookout for it at a custom truck show near you, it definitely won’t disappoint!
